Job Description

 

We are hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team! As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be working from our Headquarters office in Miami handling reconciliations and financials for properties on the east and west coast of Florida during regular office hours. However, the business hours may be extended as needed to meet deadlines and/or to attend a Board meeting as needed. Ideal candidates should have an understanding of Accrual Accounting using GAAP and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience. 

 

Job Complexity & Critical Skills

  • The Property Accountant must perform the job duties with a view toward projecting a professional and competent image. The timeliness and professional responses are key to this position.
  • The position is fundamental to the accounting and financial analysis of an Association as such requires knowledge of the accrual basis of accounting, with attention to detail, solid time management and good interpersonal skills.

Job Summary

  • Reconcile bank accounts for assigned associations.
  • Review and analyze the General Ledger to ensure its accuracy.
  • Prepare the monthly Financial Report for assigned associations to include: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Bank Reconciliations, Check Register, Open AP Report, and Aging Report.
  • Enter and process pending Journal Entries for Accruals.
  • Maintain and reconcile prepaid insurance schedule.
  • Review Balance Sheet for accuracy and ensure that supporting documentation matches.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets for the assigned associations.
  • Reconcile any other accounts (such as Special Assessment, Insurance Proceeds, Security Deposits, etc.) and ensure their accuracy.
  • Review and reconcile the reserve account with reserve liabilities.
  • Assist the assigned associations’ CPA by providing the documentation necessary to perform an external audit, review, or compilation.
  • Process and record year end Journal Entries.
  • Respond to emails and requests from staff in a timely fashion.
  • Inform upper management and property managers of any material transactions that may affect cash availability.
  • Assess tasks and prioritize them to ensure completion by deadline set.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with major in Accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in related field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Should have knowledge of accrual-based accounting.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and with emphasis on meeting deadlines.
  • Must have ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel and Word.).
  • Proficiency in Enumerate Central (former TOPS ONE) is a plus.
