We are seeking a dynamic full-time House Director for our new house! Eta Iota Chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno will have approximately 40 women living in the house this fall. The position will start in May/June.

This is a live-in position requiring overnight stays when the women are in residence. The total compensation for this position includes, private living quarters with full bath, utilities, cable, internet/Wi-Fi, reserved parking space, private chef prepared meals during the academic year and paid time off including university recognized holidays.

The ideal candidate will be a self starter, creative, a great listener and most importantly, support the members. Prior house director and/or property management experience is helpful, along with strong organizational and communication skills.


Job duties include but not limited to:

* Ensures a safe, comfortable and productive environment for collegians.

* Coordinates routine maintenance and manages multiple service providers.

* Communicates house maintenance issues to the House Corporation.

* Notifies the House Corporation of major repairs with estimates that need to be done.

* Immediately reports all damages which require insurance claims to the House Corporation.

* Creates strategy for the long-term care and upkeep of the facility and presents the information at a House Corporation meeting.

* Communicates any unusual trends and/or problems within the chapter to the Chapter Adviser.

* Communicates professionally and regularly with Chapter President and Director of House Management.

* Recruits, interviews, conducts staff performance evaluations/discipline warnings and supervises staff with input from the House Corporation President/Employment Committee Chair and Human Resources Business Partner. Staff include the Chef and Kitchen Assistants.

* Manages new hire paperwork, schedules staff and reviews/approves payroll in a timely manner.

* Maintains and is responsible for a credit card for small expenses.

* Adheres to campus, Fraternity, House Corporation and Chapter policies and rules.


Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills:

* Previous house director/property management experience a plus.

* Supervisory experience preferred.

* Excellent communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to work independently and efficiently.

* Ability to maintain confidential information.

* Ability to perform basic functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to scan and email documents.

* Positive solution-focused attitude.

* Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with students, parents, alumnae, service providers and community resources.

* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with college-age women. Must have patience and the ability to pivot.

* Ability to climb up and down several flights of stairs and lift 25 pounds if necessary.

* A valid driver’s license preferred.

Time Commitment :

The House Director must be onsite, overnight, seven nights per week except when prior arrangements have been made for other adult supervision.
