Job Description
Primary duty is the servicing and repairing of motor vehicles. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. As a service technician it is very important to work productively and efficiently. Your personal goal will be to constantly improve in production and efficiency. Perform repair of vehicle as directed by dispatcher. Relay repair work completed to service desk. Observe any safety issues and other needed repairs or maintenance and report to service desk. Work in a timely manner ensure vehicle cleanliness and conditon. Maintain a clean and safe workspace. Secure vehicle upon completion and return keys to service desk. Receive incentive commission for findings of repairs other than those that the vehicle are being repaired for and customer agrees to do the repair at that time..

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or the equivalent.

Dealer standards as required by manufacturer, and other job related Chrysler Corp certifications auto repair related courses to maintain certification for skill level.

Job-Specific Expectations

Use factory specifications as the standard in all repair, service, and customization work. Receive service assignments from the service writer, service manager or dispatcher. Have the repair work finished within the allotted time. Set goals, develop skills and constantly increase efficiency skill level. Submit your request parts as soon as it is determined what is required for a particular job. Keep the service writer, service manger, and/or dispatcher informed of any supplemental work that may be required or of any delays to estimated completion time as you make those determinations so the customer can receive up to date information. Aid service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way you are able to guarantee customer satisfaction. Make sure the proper paperwork is completed and filed after every job completion. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Take care that the vehicle is cleaner when the job is completed than when the customer dropped it off. Make each job thorough and complete to reduce return repairs. If the vehicle should be returned for additional work complete it quickly, correctly and cheerfully. When repairs are completed, ensure vehicle is returned to lot and windows and doors are locked unless specified otherwise by customer. Change of status of sunroof, convertible top operation and radio must be approved by customer and stated on repair. Test drives as required and test drive is to be performed on predetermined route approved by the service manager and in accordance with local, state, federal ordinances. Examine vehicle for safety issues that should be repaired and other findings that should be repaired.

Make 100 % or more productivity the goal and keep at or above that. Continue to work to improve productivity level showing increasing growth. Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized. Due to safety regulations, no refrigerators, microwaves, or electrical food heating devices are permitted at individual bays. At end of each day before you leave, take time to organize, clean up area, and return Company tools not needed anymore. Keep your technical qualifications current by finishing any required training programs. Work in accordance with OSHA regulations and manufacturer regulations. Complete compliance with KPA safety regulations mandatory. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the Service Director. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place in the same condition as they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner using proper safety gear as required. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.

Provide excellent customer service for all customers whether external and internal, specifically offering dependable vehicle service. When in presence of customers, smile and greet if meet in lot and need assistance or direction to department.

Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by customer.

Remain current on HR Hotlink acknowledgments and training. Be compliant with company policy and handbook.

Perform any other shop related task as requested by the service manager or service director.

Adhere to OSHA, EPA , and KPA safety rules and state/federal environmental laws.
