Description
The YMCA is for Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position will drive new membership sales, maximize retention, lead and manage the front desk welcome center staff to improve member engagement. This position will represent the YMCA in a manner in accordance with the mission and goals of the YMCA.

Schedule: Full Time; Days, Evenings and Weekends

Job Requirement

1. Able to multi-task (helping staff, helping members, answer phone, handle other duties)
 2. Strong computer skills. Able to be efficient, proficient and knowledgeable in customer services, and decision making.
 3. Able to learn information about each department to better serve potential members and current members or know where to find it.
 4. Able to understand the relationship of the general public to the association, of staff to volunteer, and of staff to staff, and be able to effectively enhance and cultivate those relationships.
 5. Able to communicate effectively with adults and children alike.


Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Duties:

1. Working with the Executive Director, plan all welcome center staffing based upon membership sales and revenue goals.
 2. Teach and train all staff members how to be a friendly and welcoming presence in the Y.
 3. Provide excellent member service by exceeding member expectations including being a good listener, caring about member’s well-being and checking in on their progress. Staff must also take the initiative to talk with members and to make them feel welcome.
 4. Meet and exceed monthly and annual membership sales goals.
 5. Conduct prospective member tours as per training; demonstrate consistent excellence in sales and closing techniques, telephone and in-person service, and prospective member engagement; follow up for prospective members on a daily basis.
 6. Use Listen First skills to build relationships with members, program participants and prospects.
 7. Model the following Behaviors:
 a. Make eye contact with members as much as possible when talking to them.
 b. Ask members how they are doing or if they are having a good day as they come into the facility or during classes.
 c. Make members feel welcome by being pleasant and cheerful, which includes saying hello, goodbye, calling members by name and most importantly smiling at them.
 d. Be open and willing to be a substitute to work a shift where there is no coverage, including opening, closing and weekend shifts. 

8. Oversee renewals including sending out billing statements with marketing flyer and tracks in excel spreadsheets in the P Drive.
 9. Follows up with all terminations and documents results in excel spreadsheet.
 10. Assist in grass roots marketing including handing out flyers, working tables at community events, and attending other special events as needed
 11. Perform program and camp registrations as well as membership sign-ups in Spirit, YConnect or electronic registration system.
 12. Perform responsibilities such as cashing out, balancing daily transactions, and dropping envelopes in safe.
 13. Be ready and able to respond to an emergency, assemble emergency equipment and assist in care of the victim.
 14. Attend all staff meetings (mandatory) and be able to work as a team player.
 15. Work some nights and weekends as assigned.
 16. Perform all other duties as assigned.
