Real Estate Analyst Intern (Summer)

The Real Estate Analyst Intern supports Taylor Derrick Capital’s Underwriting & Origination, Debt Asset Management and Equity Asset Management teams by evaluating current and potential debt and equity opportunities, conducting market analysis, and tracking current debt and equity investments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Assist in the evaluation of real estate assets, market dynamics and borrower/partner capabilities

·         Assist in the preparation of term sheets, funding summaries, executive summaries and other related documents

·         Assist in tracking and reviewing borrower budgets, construction progress and draw requests

·         Conduct assigned research projects and prepare informal summaries for business development and management decision purposes

·         Source, summarize and update market research

·         Comfortably work in detailed Excel financial models

·         Occasional site visits

·         Other duties as assigned

·         Solid understanding of real estate fundamentals, asset types and markets

·         Acute attention to detail in document review, drafting and editing term sheets, and other written communications

·         Highly organized

·         Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment

·         Ability to work independently and take initiative

·         Ability to create documents, templates and reports for executive review

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

·         High school diploma required

·         Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Economics or other related field required

·         Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, proficiency required

·         Previous internship and/or work experience in business or commercial real estate preferred
