Special Inspectors (ICC, AWS CWI, NACE)

We have Special Inspector positions in various locations. Salaries are commensurate with relevant work experience and certifications.

What You Will Do:

• Perform field inspections and manage inspection reports
• Evaluate plans, specifications, and submittals for inspection details
• Review all work site conditions and propose modifications as per requirements
• Interact with project managers, contractors, and project staff as necessary
• Attend pre-construction and project progress meetings as needed
• Inspect and record the results of specific inspections to verify conformance to applicable codes, project plans and job specifications.
• Read/review construction documents (drawings, specifications, etc.).
• Use safety equipment, supplies, and procedures to perform job duties as required.
• Perform special inspections based on applicable certification requirements (concrete, welding, bolting, masonry, soils, etc.)
• Prepare detailed field inspection reports which include photographs.
• Submit completed reports to the office within 24 hours of completing assigned tasks.
• Clean field equipment used for field testing.
• Report any defective equipment to Dispatcher.
• Operating equipment such as lifts, coring equipment, grout mixers, compression machines, beam breaking machines, and saws.

What You Will Bring

• Excellent command of written and verbal English
• Adhere to deadlines of daily reports submission (24-48 hours)
• Manual dexterity necessary to efficiently operate field testing equipment.
• Effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public.
• Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to climb ladders of varying heights.
• Ability to maneuver in crawl spaces, attics and utility tunnels.
• Evaluate plans, specifications, and submittals for inspection details
• Review all work site conditions and propose modifications as per requirements
• Attend meetings as needed
• Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs.
