Job Description

Albuquerque City Drug (a FarmaKeio NM pharmacy) is seeking a full-time certified pharmacy technician for the shipping of mail-order medications. This is not your standard retail pharmacy position. If you prefer a high-volume grind this is not the position you are looking for. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily and be adept at multi-tasking. They must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational and time management skills. An exceptional customer service orientation is a must! They must be able to think creatively about problem-solving and look for opportunities to move tasks and projects forward in the face of potential roadblocks, keeping the company’s highest level of service in mind while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

 

Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to be a team member who fits into the culture of the company and works well with other team members at all levels - peer, supervisory, and subordinate. Hours: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Hours are generally 9 AM – 5 PM but can vary from 7 AM to 6 PM depending on future needs.


Compensation: Depending on experience (DOE)

Responsibilities:

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


  • Efficiently pack and ship medications ensuring drug stability and integrity.
  • Perform duties in compliance with SOPs and best practices, including as directed and appropriate.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws.
  • Provide administrative support for company management as needed to effectively execute company activities.
  • Interact politely and effectively with patients, practitioners, and others.
  • Coordinating delivery of prescriptions to patients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assisting with the management of supplies inventory.
  • Assure prompt and positive action on all questions, concerns, and suggestions.
  • Prescription fill workflow.
  • Claims processing follow through.
  • Contacting patients and/or providers regarding prescription processing issues.
  • Prepare completed products for dispensing.
  • Prescription medication and OTC inventory.
  • Physical counts; Ordering and Receiving.
  • Answering incoming calls.
  • Cashiering.
Qualifications:

Job Requirements

  • Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) and licensed in the state of New Mexico.
  • Obtaining licensure in other states may be required to fulfill state-specific regulatory obligations.
  • Experience in retail or compounding pharmacy.
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Accountability.
  • Integrity.
  • Diligence.
  • Cashiering experience.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, and having no allergies to chemicals that might be used during compounding.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about integrative, regenerative, and functional medicine.
  • Computer Rx and/or LifeFile software experience.
  • Independent pharmacy experience.
  • Ability to think outside the box.
  • High degree of situational awareness and detail orientation.
  • Knowledge of drug cost and drug plan reimbursements.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong Computer Skills.
