We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as a U.S. Government Legal and Regulatory EEOC Advisor. This role will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance and advice on matters related to equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance and regulatory affairs within the U.S. government context. The Advisor will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic direction and ensuring compliance with federal laws, regulations, and guidelines enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance on complex legal issues related to EEOC laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Interpret and analyze federal laws and regulations, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and other relevant statutes, to ensure compliance with EEOC requirements.
  • Review and assess government policies, procedures, and practices to identify areas of potential risk and recommend appropriate strategies for mitigating legal exposure.
  • Advise senior leadership and key stakeholders on legal implications of proposed actions and decisions, including potential impact on EEOC compliance.
  • Monitor developments in federal EEOC laws, regulations, and guidance, and assess their potential impact on government operations.
  • Represent the organization in interactions with EEOC officials, other government agencies, and external stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Advocate for the organization's interests in regulatory proceedings, rulemaking activities, and other forums, including drafting comments and responses to proposed regulations and guidance
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials on EEOC laws, regulations, and best practices for government personnel at all levels.
  • Collaborate with HR, compliance, and training teams to ensure that government employees receive comprehensive education on EEOC compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on addressing EEO-related issues in the workplace.
  • Oversee and/or conduct investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other EEO violations within the government agency.
  • Analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and make recommendations for appropriate resolution of EEO complaints in accordance with legal requirements and agency policies.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of investigative findings and actions taken to address EEO concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the bar of a U.S. state or territory.
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on EEOC compliance, employment law, administrative law, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of federal EEOC laws, regulations, and enforcement practices, including familiarity with relevant case law and legal precedents.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide practical legal advice in a complex regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate legal concepts effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, government officials, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience working within or advising government agencies is preferred.
  • Certified EEOC Investigator or other relevant certifications are a plus.
