Job Title:         Senior Accountant COMPANY OVERVIEW:

If you want to go from good to great, you want to be here! JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting Team, providing valuable information to the company, and will frequently deal with company team members and managers.    This position will be responsible for accounting transactional oversight and resource management, financial analysis, and reporting, for reconciling general ledger accounts and data between the accounting and operations systems.  In addition, this position will need to understand the various functions/tasks of the department so that they can provide backup, support, and guidance during periods of high volume, mentoring new hires or when team members are on leave.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: Include the following but not limited to:  
  • Responsible for ensuring transactions have been processed daily and reallocation of resources during periods of high volume or accounting employees’ time off
  • Manages daily financial data reconciliation between the accounting system, operations system, and bank.
  • Reconciles general ledger Balance Sheet accounts
  • Responsible for posting and reconciling credit card charges
  • Responsible for processing refund requests in accordance with company policy. 
  • Manages expense allocation analysis and cost distributions for shared expenses such as rent, utilities, property tax, insurance, and software
  • Prepares and presents Accounting Departmental financial reports per manager and owners’ requests
  • Generates company-wide weekly/monthly job status and invoicing reports and statistics
  • Cross-train with all Accounting Team members and become proficient in all accounting functional areas in order to provide workload support and guidance, as needed, with AR customer invoicing / cash receipts/collections, AP subcontractor and vendor invoice processing/payment, job closing reviews/reconciliations 
  • Responsible for closing jobs; including researching invoicing, payments, and costs associated with jobs and requests adjustments, refunds, and cost movements, as needed before posting to the general ledger and closing job.  Assists, when needed, in financial review and closing of active jobs. This review includes a comprehensive review and reconciliation of all job financial data and obligations including estimates, invoicing, payments, expenses, and profitability of each job
  • Assists in preparing and distributing of monthly bonus schedules, in accordance with plan documents.
  • Reviews and maintains vendor and subcontractor 1099 filing status/updates
  • Assists in preparation of annual schedules and reports for annual tax filings, audits, business licenses, and other financial renewals.
  • Participates in company special projects providing accounting expertise

REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or finance, from an accredited institution
  • Possess strong full cycle accounting knowledge 
  • 3-4 years of accounting experience
  • Must be proficient at an intermediate level with Microsoft Office, Word, & advanced Excel
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend enhancements/solutions
  • Proficiency with various computer technologies/systems; quickly able to adapt to new systems
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision at the appropriate level of independence and speed
