Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for the financial planning and analysis function (“FP&A”) , including strategic planning, budgeting, financial modeling, financial management reporting, and monthly program performance reviews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

FP&A:

  • Establish and manage monthly operating/financial reviews, preparing regular variance reporting of actual results versus forecast and budget and providing comprehensive explanations of differences.
  • Manage financial management reporting, working closely with the Controller, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages. Develop financial Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.
  • Develop and monitor the company’s annual budget and forecasts, which include establishing budget tools, setting timelines, and acting as project manager for the company, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.
  • Lead the capital budgeting process and regular review of proposed capital spending and resource allocation. Oversees related capital appropriation process including business case development and analysis.
  • Supervises the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Partners with the management team to provide value-added insight into the business.
  • Supervise financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for development projects, long-term contracts, and other ad-hoc projects
  • Develop and maintain all policies and procedures relative to FP&A functions and recommend internal control improvements to CFO.
  • Responsible for the business intelligence/financial reporting platform development (Cognos) and planning tool.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the company’s management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Education:

BA/BS in finance, accounting, or related field required. MBA a plus. CPA a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • 10 plus years of operational finance experience with supervisory responsibility in a government contracting organization.
  • Strong manager with good people skills. We are looking for a leader that will further develop their team.
  • Expertise in analyzing and reporting monthly and annual financial results, including developing and tracking performance against estimate at complete (EAC).
  • Government compliance experience important, including knowledge of FAR and 2 CFR 200 requirements.
  • Non-profit experience a plus and working with Grants/contracts management within the OMB Uniform Guidance requirements.
  • Experience structuring and reporting cost allocations, including development of indirect rates.
  • Experience working in an organization that provides IT Product/Services including telecommunication and data exchange applications a plus.
  • Systems: Experience with Cognos, and Sage Intacct a plus. Skilled in modeling in Excel.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience supporting audits a plus.
  • Must be experienced in and successful in making effective presentations to executive staff to support decision-making and resource allocation, which requires strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff at all levels across various operation groups.
  • Must have discretion with handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in order to oversee multiple projects at one time.
