Job Description

At DNSFilter we are making workplaces more secure through protective DNS and advanced content filtering—and we need your help! We've come a long way over the past few years. In 2021 we had a successful $30 million Series A funding round, in 2022 we became the fastest DNS security tool on the planet and acquired the privacy-focused VPN Guardian, and in 2023 we extended our Series A by $15M and added more global points of presence to our anycast network!

As we continue our product-fueled growth by adding new features and broadening our solution to meet the needs of the global market, it's clear there's a missing piece. That's where you come in!

We are seeking a GRC Manager to lead our data governance and compliance efforts to ensure the protection, privacy, and security of all customer and company data. This role will be critical in establishing and maintaining strong data governance practices and ensuring adherence to applicable data protection and privacy regulations.

We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. If you feel like this job is for you, please apply. We believe diversity of experience and skills, including transferable skills, combined with passion is a key to innovation and excellence; therefore we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions!

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and manage data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Oversee compliance with relevant regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection and privacy laws
  • Lead initiatives to assess and improve data quality and integrity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain data governance frameworks and practices
  • Develop and deliver training programs on data governance and compliance
  • Ensure appropriate data classification and access controls are in place
  • Regularly monitor and report on data governance and compliance metrics
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends in data governance and compliance
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and legal teams
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, security, and IT teams

To qualify for this role, you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in data governance, compliance, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of data protection and privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Experience developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Proven track record of successfully managing data governance and compliance initiatives
  • Excellent knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Ongoing commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing relationships with external auditors and legal teams
  • Prior experience in the SaaS industry is a plus
  • Previous remote work experience

Bonus points for:

  • IAPP certification
  • Experience with ISO 27001 and other relevant certifications
  • Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations globally
  • Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies and data anonymization techniques
  • Certifications in data governance, privacy, or compliance, in particular IAPP

We Offer:

  • A 100% work-from-home position with a company that values and fosters personal and professional growth

  • Passionate and intelligent colleagues who work hard and have a good time doing it
  • Rotating 4-Day work week
  • Paid company-wide week off at the end of each year
  • Flexible Vacation policy
  • Awesome company swag

  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits for US and Canada based employees

Our Talent Team can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
