We are looking for a Small Business Advisory Bookkeeper/Payroll staff member to join our team! You will be responsible for either part or all of a client's preparing and analyzing financial records, payroll and general advice for our clients. This role is not a remote position. We do have remote working options for emergencies and occasional use, but would prefer staff to be in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements
- Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
- Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
- Report analysis and findings to management team
- Prepare payroll on a regular basis using QuickBooks and a third party software system. Sometimes this includes garnishments, retirement plan contribution and bonuses. Restaurant payroll is a plus.
- Prepare and file sales/meals tax
- Prepare 1099 and keep track of W9 forms during the year when working with books
- Communicate results and expectations clearly to clients and team members
- Assume responsibility for due dates and budgeting work for your assigned clients
- Knowledge of individual and business taxes is a plus
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
- Solid experience with desktop and online QuickBooks is required and preferably other types of accounting software is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft programs is required
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
