The Housing Stabilization Specialist will assist clients with disabilities, mental health diagnosis, substance use disorders to obtain stable and affordable housing. Common tasks are meeting with clients, assessing and overcoming barriers pertaining to housing, identifying and accessing community financial resources, and assisting clients in developing skills to maintain housing.
What Can I Expect Working for Recovery Health Solutions in this Role?
You will report to the program manager and have a caseload of 10-13 clients. You can expect your day-to-day responsibilities to include:
• Meet with clients in community settings and virtually.
· Visit and Tour potential housing properties.
• Communicate with external resources regarding funding and access.
• Identify client weaknesses regarding maintaining housing, and help client develop skills to overcome.
• Documentation of individual client progress, and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualities one must possess to be successful in this position:
Must be familiar with the following programs: Medical Assistance, Section 8 Housing Voucher Program, Project Based Housing, Group Residential Housing (GRH) program, Section 42 based housing.
· Must have strong writing and communication skills.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to pay close attention to detail.
· Must be highly motivated, responsible, and focused.
· Must be proactive and have the ability to follow through on tasks.
· Must have experience with transitioning and sustaining housing clients.
All applicants must be able to possess the following:
· Able to pass a Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Study.
· Valid Driver's License.
· You must be comfortable having clients in your vehicle.
· Maintain a reliable vehicle.
· Maintain valid car insurance.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Must be reliable, honest, hardworking, proactive and organized.
· Basic computer skills.
· Ability to work with diverse population
