Description
Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is hiring a Community Engagement Specialist to serve Pitt County.
The Community Engagement Specialist position is a part-time position (up to 19 hours/ week) and is responsible for preparing and facilitating programs for girls in communities throughout Pitt County. This position pays $16/hr.
The Community Engagement Specialist is a Part-Time position with work hours between 8a-5p. The individual MUST reside within North Carolina and will be required to attend in-person activities within the area of Pitt County.
Day in the Life
- Deliver programs to groups of 25+ girls at partner sites.
- Prepare and set up materials based on programming.
- Travel throughout assigned area to 1-3 partner sites a day.
- Interface with site leaders and staff
Requirements
- High School degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Work with volunteers and community contacts from diverse backgrounds and build effective volunteer leadership teams.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, produce results, and must be detail-oriented.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel throughout the assigned region.
- This position requires driving a council vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, the individual must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license, and self-report any vehicle violations.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Must be able to lift or move a minimum of 25 pounds occasionally.

- Must be willing to obtain GSUSA membership ($25 annually) upon employment.
