Supply Chain Manager Opening

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Full time Direct Hire
Onsite

Our client is looking to add talent to their team to help with their growing needs. This is the chance to work with an established, global company to boost your skill set and contribute to a successful team! The Supply Chain Manager will be looked at to optimize the supply chain through developing and executing comprehensive commodity strategies that drive quality, cost and delivery that align with company goals.

The Supply Chain Lead will have the following responsibilities:

Optimize supplier interface to streamline operations
Lead cross-functional teams with purchasing and engineering in standardization and value engineering activities
Negotiating framework agreement with key vendors and suppliers
Develop collaborative relationships and strategic plans with key suppliers
ID Cost reduction opportunities
Some travel to vendors and customer’s sites as required

The ideal candidate will have the following skillset/experience:

Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced procurement tools
Strong understanding of LEAN Manufacturing principles and how they apply to procurement
Knowledge of vendor performance metrics
Must be able to collaborate with internal engineering team and vendors
A strong Mechanical Engineering background would be a plus
Basic knowledge of Hydraulics and Control components
Strong Negotiation skills
Proven experience in strategic procurement in a manufacturing or automation solutions industry
