International Asset management company seeks an Assistant Director, Private Equity Analyst.

Position Summary:
Analyze new investment opportunities, monitor funds and manage disclosure activities to aid in the selection and evaluation of
private equity managers for clients.
Essential Duties/Function:
• Screen and develop new investment opportunities through the manager search and selection process.
• Build strong relationships with existing and prospective general partners.
• Plan and conduct due diligence meetings; assist in formulating investment recommendations and present reports
to the Global Investment Committee.
• Participate in the Global Investment Committee, which includes members from the company's New York,
London and Tokyo offices.
• Coordinate with external parties in the negotiation and execution of agreements and documents related to
Private Equity investments.
• Contribute industry news, research and data to the team; participate in industry conferences.
• Perform post-investment monitoring of funds, including periodic meetings with general partners, annual meeting
attendance and office visits, etc.
• Assist in actively encouraging the promotion of ESG investment and implementing responsible investment
through enhanced ESG scoring.
• Prepare comments for the quarterly reports; attend quarterly disclosure meetings with Tokyo.
• Research and investigate matters as required by clients or regulators.
• Manage and maintain data related to underlying fund performance and company data.
• Miscellaneous projects or duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
• Strong academic background including Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Economics related field or
equivalent work experience; MBA and/or progress toward CFA qualification is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in fund investments (including experience in middle or back office),
preferable with a focus on alternative fund selection at an institutional investor (including bank, insurance
company, pension fund, endowment, foundation, SWF or family office), investment consultant, investment
manager, or private equity firm.
• Strong command of MS Office software, including advanced Excell skills.
• Outstanding analytical, financial modeling, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills required;
a fast learner with ability to excel in a highly collaborative global team.
• Ability to work before and after standard business hours as required to attend video/conference call meetings
with Japan.
• Detail oriented, pro-active and able to manage multiple projects to deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically, as required.
• Must be a flexible team player able to adapt to change.
• Fluency in English is required.
