Job Description

The mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is to entertain, enrich and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education and advocacy. From college students to young stars, from working professionals to celebrated masters, we present quality jazz for an ever-increasing audience in an unprecedented range of activities and a variety of venues. We are dedicated to lifting audiences and bringing people together with substance and with integrity. JALC has created a dynamic platform where our key constituents – jazz artists (beginner to grizzled veteran), fans (casual listeners to advanced scholars), educators (local band leaders to leading artist-educators) and advocates (local community advocates to important national promoters) – can meet, engage, learn and work toward common objectives.

Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, the (Contract) Recruiter supports the recruitment of a wide range of positions at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and confidential projects. Additionally, this position will assist in the onboarding of all newly hired employees. And they will be relied upon for providing reporting and analytical data on all recruiting activity that will help establish best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute comprehensive targeted sourcing strategies via various methods (internal applicants, tracking system, external job boards such as Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, professional and trade associations, social media, personal networks, etc.)
  • Perform full cycle recruiting to include sourcing talent, evaluating candidates, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and extending offers
  • Consult with senior leadership to identify recruitment needs.
  • Manage and coordinate all communication with candidates, to include offer letters to successful candidates.
  • Work with hiring managers and HR team to ensure appropriate job requisitions, descriptions, and postings are prepared to attract the most qualified candidates.
  • Support new hire onboarding activities.
  • Use analytics and reporting activity to track recruiting progress
  • Ensure that broad slates of candidates are considered for all open positions
  • Provide complete, accurate, and inspiring information to candidates about the company and position.

Qualifications

  • BS in Business, Human Resources, or related fields; or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of years of full cycle recruitment, and sourcing experience required.
  • Experience in fast paced and loosely structured environments preferred
  • Willingness to use cold or warm calling methods to recruit or research potential candidates
  • Familiarity with social media applications
  • Excellent analytical skills to track metrics and interpret data for recruiting campaigns
  • A professional, courteous demeanor on the phone and in-person
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to network and establish professional relationships
  • Knowledge of state employment laws a plus
  • The ability to collaborate fluently with cross-functional partners
  • Prior Diversity recruitment experience is a plus
  • Prior ATS experience required; Workforce Now is a plus
