Overview

Indagare is seeking a highly motivated, organized and proactive individual to join our Finance team. As Staff Accountant, you will provide broad support across various functions, including: accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting.

You would be an ideal candidate for this position if you have a passion for travel, an upbeat ''can-do'' attitude, possess strong organizational and communication skills and are detail-oriented. We are looking for someone who is truly excited to take ownership of the position and its growth potential.

This role is remote.

What You'll Do:

The Staff Accountant will be cross trained in all areas of the Finance department to provide broad support and become an integral member of the team.

There is potential to further carve out and refine your own role beyond the scope, duties and responsibilities listed below. Areas included, but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Create and send invoices to hotels to collect commission payments.
    • Create and send invoices to advertisers and sponsors for our business development team.
    • Apply incoming payments, coming into our Operating and Escrow bank accounts.
    • Assist in researching outstanding balances to support Booking and Finance staff in collections.
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Manage incoming vendor bills through the approval process and enter approved bills into NetSuite.
    • Proactively communicate with vendors where needed to obtain bills and reconcile accounts.
    • Enter approved bills in the bank to be paid.
    • Review submitted trip supplier payment requests and enter them into the bank for payment.
    • Review Employee expense report submissions and communicate with staff to ensure compliance with policies and SOPs.
  • General Accounting:
    • Monthly trip reconciliation including hotel, touring and Journeys.
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Review weekly membership refunds.
    • Support the month-end close process including variance analysis.
    • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain all relevant supporting schedules.
    • Assist in developing processes and workflows to improve existing processes and support.
    • Manage adhoc projects as assigned by the Senior Director, Accounting or CFO

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Relevant GAAP accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of G/L including journal entries
  • Understanding of accrual accounting
  • Familiarity with accounting software (experience with NetSuite, a plus)
