SYELP Trainer/Case Manager (Non-Driver)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to support the Agency’s needs by providing training, case management, supervision and support to the Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program (SYELP) participants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification.   • Assists with planning, implementing and facilitating orientation, and ongoing workforce training workshops in the areas of: World of work awareness, labor market knowledge, occupational information, values clarification and personal understanding, career planning and decision making, job search techniques, positive work habits and behaviors.
  • Manages a case load of SYELP participants ages 16-24 years of age who are placed at different work sites.
  • Visits work sites and communicates regularly with work site supervisors re: performance.
  • Assist the youth in maintaining a successful employment experience at their work site.
  • Develop educational support for the youth as needed.
  • Responsible for collecting time sheets and payroll distribution.
  • Monitors weekly program compliance, completes performance reviews and reports.
  • Collect data and maintain records, on attendance of participants and monitor participants' progress through using case notes.
  • Provide referral services to program participants and their families as needed.
  • Assist Program Manager with orientation and training of all new employees.
  • Assist Program Manager with coordination of case management duties.
  • Assist Program Manager in data collection and outcome/reporting requirements.
  • Primary/Lead group facilitator.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Attend and complete all mandatory trainings.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Performs other related duties as needed


MINIMUM TRAINING EXPERIENCE and health certifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.

Minimum Years of Experience: One (1) ear experience in case management or counseling of youth, supervision, training and workforce and youth development experience. Human Services college credits preferred.

Demonstrate skills in: Strong communication, organization and multi-tasking.

Knowledge of: working with the youth population. MS Office.

ADA COMPLIANCE

Physical Ability: Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and materials.

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
