Position: Insurance Regulatory & Governance Specialist

Location: Hybrid (local to New York, NY)

Duration: 3 months (possible for extension depending on performance, attendance, and client needs)

Shift: Monday - Friday (9 AM - 5 PM) - Hybrid role

 

Description:

· Insurance Regulatory & Governance Specialist New York-Hybrid Join Our Team You will be Insurance Regulatory & Governance Specialist responsible for tracking new laws regarding regulatory and governance that may impact business. You will report to the Associate General Counsel, Head of Regulatory.

 

Regulatory Duties:

· Review and analyze state insurance department statutes, regulations, bulletins, etc. to determine new filing and regulatory requirements.

· Stay current on changes and developments that impact insurance design and development, in addition to filing requirements.

· Provide guidance and direction to business units on the implementation of new laws and regulations that impact business and operations.

· Develop and maintain extensive personal contacts with state insurance department staff.

· Work with Legal and Compliance personnel to identify and communicate sensitive regulatory issues or political situations.

· Represent the company, as needed, at industry meetings.

· Manage and coordinate regulatory examinations, including financial examinations, market conduct examinations, and other regulatory audits.

· Assist Property & Casualty and Accident & Health Business units with primary and expansion certificates of authority.

· Manage Fines & Penalties tracking and KPI reporting for the team.

 

Governance Duties:

·        Coordinate and facilitate subsidiaries corporate secretary matters using Diligent Entity Management and Diligent Boards.

·        Assist with Drafting basic corporate law documents, such as preparing resolutions and unanimous written consents for Board and Committee meetings.

·        Prepare and manage updates for biographical affidavits.

·        Supporting other regulatory operations analysis and activities as required

 

Your skills and abilities should include:

·        Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and 3-5 years related experience and/or training.

·        Strong insurance regulatory filing background.

·        Knowledge of business line products, including company organization and procedures.

·        Notary license preferable.

·        Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

·        Ability to work with remote teams.

·        Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

·        Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

·        Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems related to regulatory operations activities.

·        Highly organized.

·        Possess/exude a team player job attitude.

·        To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outloo
