Fully Remote Contract Tax Preparer

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our remote team on a part-time basis. This role requires a thorough understanding of tax regulations and excellent proficiency in Intuit products such as QuickBooks and ProConnect. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely personal and business tax returns, providing clients with clear, actionable advice on tax-related matters.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for both individual and business clients.
• Utilize Intuit products, including QuickBooks and ProConnect, to gather, organize, and track financial information.
• Analyze financial documents to ensure their completeness and accuracy.
• Provide advice on tax planning and strategies tailored to client needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of client information.
• Stay updated on new tax policies and legislation that impact client returns.
• Communicate with clients to clarify tax issues and provide updates on the tax preparation process.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in tax preparation for both individuals and businesses.
• Expertise in Intuit products, specifically QuickBooks and ProConnect.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
