Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, ensuring food safety and handling procedures are followed, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices and seasonings
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development
- Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety
- Monitor food stock levels and notify the kitchen manager of any shortages
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation
- Adhere to all culinary guidelines and standards set by the establishment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook/Prep Cook or similar role in the food industry
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Strong knife skills and ability to use kitchen equipment effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work well in a team setting and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff members
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required
