Metal Finisher (Polisher)

Description: Architectural Grille, a Division of Giumenta Corporation, located at 42 Second Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11215 is a family-owned and operated manufacturing company that has been in business since 1945. We are seeking a full-time metal finisher with the ability to polish various types of metal products in a timely and accurate manner.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Grind, sand, clean, and finish parts using hand tools or power equipment for a high-polish mirror finish

· Grind down welds using a handheld grinder

· Apply satin finish using a stroke sander

· Use time saver finishing machine

· Observe and inspect parts to ensure specifications and quality are met

· Apply appropriate compounds to achieve the desired finish

· Maintain equipment

· Follow safety rules

· Perform other duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

· 1-5 years of experience running multiple machines, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance

· High School Diploma or GED

· Time Management skills

· Problem sensitivity and creative thinking

· Handling and moving heavy items (up to 25 lbs)

· Neat and organized

· Ability to work in a team atmosphere

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to achieve the intended objective

· Ability to adapt to change

Working Conditions:

· Manual dexterity to handle parts/items

· May have to carry heavy items (up to 25 lbs)

· Near vision: the ability to see things at a close range

Salary Range: $20- $22 / hour

Bonus Bucket: (Based on hourly pay)

Introductory Period: 90 Days
