Nurse Manager, Operating Room - Ambulatory Surgery Center

Inova Lorton Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We are licensed, Medicare certified, and AAAHC accredited. We are located at the Inova Healthplex at the intersection of Lorton Road and I-95.

We are seeking an experienced OR Nurse Manager who will be responsible for supervision of the OR staff, as well as the delivery of quality patient care in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, day shift, reporting time 0700

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Supervise all surgical areas of care, ensuring the day-to-day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center
• Ensure sufficient staffing daily, remain accessible to staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
• Supervise department personnel to ensure staff achieve their potential as members of an effective team
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new staff members; monitor productivity and manage performance
• Assess the staff's educational needs and implement a plan to meet these needs
• Maintain an adequate inventory of drugs and medical supplies in the operating room and endoscopy suite areas
• Maintain a collegial relationship with physicians and other ASC stakeholders to ensure quality patient care
• Participate in and monitor quality improvement programs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Current RN licensure in Virginia
• BSN strongly preferred
• Experience required with GI, Plastics, Podiatry
• Minimum of 3 years progressive work experience in an outpatient surgery setting or operating room in an acute care hospital, which reflects both clinical and management skills
• Current BLS certification
• Competence in oral and written communication skills.
