ENGINEERED ESTIMATE SPECIALIST
Job Description:
Our Cost Accounting Specialist prepares accurate quotes for pricing and builds estimates for special items by gathering information and analyzing material and job costing. Possesses strong numerical skills and has an analytical mindset. Will create job routings and costing using current ERP system (DEACOM) to fabricate parts per customer drawings.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Consistently demonstrates superior customer service by combining system knowledge, sales, product and problem-solving skills to exceed customer expectations.
· Builds estimate,and prices standard and special jobs at a level that keeps our products competitive and maximizes profit.
· Works together with multiple departments (i.e., engineering, customer service, production, QA, shipping) as needed to ensure accurate quotes and lead times.
· Review completeness of customer specifications and documentation for manufacturing purposes
· Determine the types of materials needed and obtain cost estimates from suppliers\
· Determine sub-contract needs and obtain estimates when necessary
· Calculate labor hours using established standards and production staff input
· Prepare estimates using labor rates, markups and other factors provided by management
· Ensure all documents and data are maintained and backed up on the company system
· Communicate with customers on their formal quote, special conditions or exceptions
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· BS/BA in engineering, accounting, business or relevant discipline a plus
· Having functional competence and a basic understanding of machining or a production environment a plus
· Must feel comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment where priorities are continually changing.
· Demonstrate superior attention to detail
· Familiarity with financial and project management principles
· Excellent data analysis skills, problem solving skills and communication skills.
· Able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision within specified time frames
· Able to identify problems and offer alternative solutions and/or courses of action based on available resources
· Ability to communicate effectively with internal partners and external customers through multiple means such as email and telephone
· Ability to multitask to meet deadlines
Working Conditions:
· On-site in office position, Business Casual attire
· 8 hours per day, 5 days a week Monday - Friday
