Job Description
Summary
Responsible for the leadership, direction, and performance of the Engineering activities at the plant. This position is responsible for supporting the plant operation teams to identify and implement improvement actions related to process, quality, safety, responsiveness, and cost.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the Engineering group by assigning, managing, and providing resources for activities.
- Utilize the strength of engineering positions to drive actions which make a positive product quality, customer experience and operational efficiency impact.
- Ensure the resources being applied by the Engineering team are aligned with safety and quality initiatives.
- Identify and implement corrective actions for customer complaints and internal product build failures.
- Lead the O.E.E. process, utilizing the Process Engineers, but including all key stakeholders. Help the plant achieve the Unproduction Time Reductions, Waste Reduction, and Rate Goals.
- Responsible for proactively representing Engineering in product/process deviations.
- Drive and implement key initiatives (Lean, Visual Factory, Problem Solving, Etc.)
- Champion the pre-trial planning process to ensure the safe and reliable execution of new product samples and scale-ups.
- Work cross-functionally and across facilities and divisions to support learning and continuous improvement of the organization.
- Support and/or lead future plant growth projects and continuous improvement projects.
- Lead commission/validation of new equipment and processes.
- Develop and manage the Engineering activities through a department level Business Plan.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives related to the Manufacturing operating cost.
- Actively participate in the Lafayette safety processes and emulates the Audia Safety Way in all aspects.
- Perform job duties safely and in compliance with documentation outlined in the Safety, Health & Environmental system.
- Support all other company objectives in safety, growth, people, quality, capacity, and productivity in compliance with the Quality Management System.
- Show mobility to support best practices meetings, joint site problem solving, and global impact when called on to do so.
Training, skills, and education:
- 4-year degree in a science or engineering field required
- At least 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership role
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing Environment.
- Office Environment.
- Laboratory Environment.
Travel is required up to 5% of the time.
