Junior Equities Trading support - hybrid

Purpose

The Equities Trading Technology Support team is responsible for the delivery of technology in support of Oppenheimer’s trading lines of business and customers. In combination with in-house development and leading technology vendors, the team delivers solutions to realize business opportunities, manage market risk, provide analytics and facilitate regulatory reporting.

The candidate is responsible for the front line support of the Equities, Options and Convertible bond trading applications, including: Fidessa, Raptor, Bloomberg, Flextrade and an in-house Retail OMS. The primary function of this position is to provide daily level I and II support to the trading desks and the trading systems to meet the needs of the front office. The individual will need to effectively communicate the technical requirements to the business, internal development teams, infrastructure technology teams, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

The candidate’s responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Operational

• Assist other members of group in monitoring all equities trading systems and FIX sessions including Fidessa, Raptor, Bloomberg and Flextrade
• Learn all daily processes and procedures including escalations paths
• Communicate to the business new system enhancements and changes
• Work closely with business trade support department to ensure proper ticketing and allocation of trades
• Assist business trade support on investigating trading errors
• Assist market makers and block traders with daily trading issues
• Assist in the client onboarding process

Testing

• Prepare and QA test scripts
• Notify team of release/patch schedules for efficient rollout process
• Prepare test scripts with full entrance / exit and pass / fail criteria
• Coordinates test activities
• Provide test status as requested.
• Execute test scripts
• Provide test exit reports
• Ensure that all test standards are being followed

Analysis

• Liaise with vendors, internal departments and business analysts to gather requirements that will drive business solutions
• Gather technical requirements from different business units and perform system analysis either individually or as a team

Skills

Working Knowledge of Fidessa/FIX connectivity, technology, trading, and trading operations is a plus

• Any knowledge of Order Management Systems. Knowledge of Fidessa, Bloomberg, Flextrade and/or Raptor is a Plus
• Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate with traders, management, and team members
• Communicate clearly and professionally on telephone calls and internally in person
• Experience working for a US broker/dealer
• Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment while multitasking on various initiatives
• Ability to communicate both written and orally in a clear and understandable way to both technical and to non-technical audiences
