Locus seeks candidates deeply committed to the organization’s mission, vision, and core values. We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team of experienced, results-focused professionals who value teamwork and collaboration.


The Senior Accountant is a key role focused on efficient financial processes to support the organization’s ability to capture accurate financial data and visualize it to meet the business needs of various internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, senior management, and the board of directors.

Requirements:
  • Oversee the accounts payable and corporate credit card processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy, maintaining procedures and ensuring staff are properly trained.
  • Collaborate with accounting department team to support overall department goals and objectives. Support business processes and accounting policies. Maintain the corporate chart of accounts ensuring accuracy of utilization throughout all accounting and reporting processes.
  • Assist in the Organization’s liquidity management process, including cash reconciliations, monitoring and reporting of sources and uses, debt monitoring and maintenance and ensuring accuracy completeness of documented processes and procedures.
  • Manage all accounting aspects of the Investment portfolios, including but not limited to reconciliations, impairment analysis and municipal monitoring.
  • Manage grant income recognition to ensure it is in alignment with company guidelines and current existing accounting guidance, programmatic requirements and strategic goals.
  • Perform all programmatic and outsourced accounting services, including but not limited to income and expense recognition, monthly reconciliations, financial reporting, cash and grant tracking and budget assistance.
  • Respond to requests from internal and external parties for various financial information and analysis.
  • Serve as backup for the Staff Accountant and Director of Financial Services.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or 5 years experience in similar roles.

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and successfully interact with people at all management and support levels, as well as people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds
  • Effective written communication skills to deliver content and recommendations accurately. Demonstrated ability to document workflow and procedures.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality work products
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility required

Computer/Technology Skills

  • Excellent MS Office Suite, Acrobat & Windows file management
  • Must have good working knowledge of accounting software
  • Demonstrated web research skills
  • Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience
  • Experience with FISERV and core bank operating systems (i.e., Jack Henry 20/20 or Silverlake, or Fidelity Banc Pac)

Compensation and Benefits

  • $60,000 – $80,000 annual salary depending on skills and experience
  • Bonus opportunity if bonuses are paid in any given calendar year
  • 17 days of PTO per year
