Asst Dir of Residence Life (non-supervisory)

Assist with overall leadership and direction of the Village in line with the business plan.

Direct and train all resident assistants.

Assist in evaluating resident assistant performance.

Provide direction, coordination and oversight of a robust residence life program including resident assistant training & selection, and monthly program/event planning.

Support village during move-in and move-out processes.

Encourage student accountability for the Student Code of Conduct and Residence Life policies and procedures.

Participate in the housing administrator on-call system and serve during emergency periods at the request of the General Manager.

Handle emergency or problem situations in an efficient and effective manner to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

Provide guidance and leadership to residents, directly and through the supervision of professional and student residential staff.

Assist in addressing questions or concerns from parents, students, and various university constituents.

Be a positive role model for residents and staff.

Establish/continue positive relationships with the University.

Escalate resident issues when necessary to ensure appropriate response and resolution.

Be knowledgeable about community and University rules and regulations to appropriately explain and enforce them when interacting with residents and visitors.

Promote and encourage resident participation in university-sponsored activities.

Keep residents informed of pertinent campus information and deadlines.

Be familiar with campus and community resources and services.

Develop relationships across a variety of university departments.

Seek out opportunities to be involved in university operations by volunteering to serve on university committees and task forces.

Other duties and projects as directed.

Requires some evening and weekend commitments throughout the year.
