Entry Level Accountant

We are looking for an individual straight out of college or with a year or two experience looking for this type of opportunity. Someone committed and willing to do what they must do to be the best they can be.

We have a training development plan starting with hands-on experience in each area on our finance team, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable and Collections, Accounts Payable, International and Domestic Shipping documentation, Cost Accounting, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Financial Statements, Fixed Assets, Bank Account Reconciliations, Payroll and Benefits, Risk Management, R&D Reporting and Special Financial Projects. Since Finance is interacting with various other areas of the company daily, there will be opportunities to visit each of these areas such a purchasing, quotations, shipping and receiving, customer service, production control, job start-up, and sales to get a full and complete understanding of what they do and their interactions with Finance.

Qualifications:

• Advanced Extensive Knowledge and Skills in Microsoft Excel (Certification preferred)

• Microsoft Suite (Word, Power point, Access, Outlook)

• 2 year Accountancy Certificate or 4 year Finance degree a plus

• Right out of college or 1 to 3 years of previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields preferably working for an accounting firm or small business

• Detail-oriented and accurate

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Consistently follow work instructions to ensure all job processes are performed thoroughly and completely

• Look for Making Improvements and not overlooking what is wrong but taking the extra step to correct it

• Strong Communication Skills – being inclusive of co-workers who need to know

• Going the extra mile to save a little time for others down the line the process

• Strong organizational and administrative skills

• Be able to review customer contracts

• Ability to set up systems to monitor and meet Deadlines

• Have the ability to write up detailed work instructions and maintain a Job Reference Manual for all areas of responsibility

• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

• Must take pride in your work and ensure it is neat and professional as it is a reflection on you as well as the Finance team and Metalex

• Experience in AS400 A Plus
