  • Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday once a month.

Description
The Bridge is seeking a Housing Advocacy Manager to join our team to supervise and oversee advocacy, case management and or coaching supportive services provided to individuals and families participating in a permanent supportive housing, transitional housing and or rapid re-housing program utilizing a trauma informed and housing first approach.  
This individual will oversee Advocates providing program participants with trauma informed supportive services with the purpose of helping residents to: (1) obtain or remain in permanent housing (2) increase skills and or income; and achieve greater self-determination. They will also supervise the case-management team providing supportive services through case management, coaching and or crisis intervention by assessing needs, face to face, telephone and or home visits with program participants as needed. Establish policies and practices that are consistent with, and do not restrict the exercise of rights provided by the education subtitle of the McKinney-Vento Act, and other laws relating to the provision of educational and related services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Manage department operations by hiring, orientating, reporting, training, conducting annual performance evaluations, ongoing staff development; terminating employees, reviewing timesheets for accuracy and submitting reports to appropriate departments.
Provide training to ensure services are provided in a culturally competent and inclusive context not limited to motivational interviewing, housing first, trauma informed, fair housing, etc. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and offsite community agencies to refer residents in need of therapeutic counseling services and or other supportive services to overcome barriers that may prevent program participants from reaching their goals and maintaining permanent housing. Document outcomes of direct services to residents in compliance with grant objectives. Schedule programming in collaboration with multidisciplinary team for program participants, i.e., support groups, life skills group, etc. Engage in community organizations to develop capacity-building opportunities for the agency.
Take part in grant audits and conduct internal audits for housing programs to ensure readiness and compliance to HUD and other housing grant requirements, including budget expenditure. Implement and monitor ongoing housing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HUD and other grant requirements.
Furthermore, collaborate with the CHIP Director to ensure that children are enrolled in school and have access to community services, including early childhood programs such as Head Start, Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and McKinney-Vento education services. Communicate with CHIP Director regarding outcomes, enhancing programming and provide pertinent updates on housing program, staff, and grant regulations. Attend mandatory provider forum meetings, grant liaison meetings, coordinated entry and other meetings as determined by the Director. Serve as a back up manager in support of 24 on call for PSH participants on a rotating basis.  Assist in answering the 24-hour hotline to provide telephone assessments, crisis intervention and information and referrals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services form accredited college or university with a minimum of two years' related experience or in lieu of education, a minimum of four years' related experience.
  • Two years' demonstrated managerial/supervisory experience.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required.
Other Requirements
  • Must pass criminal background investigation check
  • Must pass drug screen
  • Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
  • Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
  • Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
