Salary: $80,000 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The eCW Implementation Specialist is a key member of the DCPCA HIT team whose primary purpose is to support eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic health records (EHR) and electronic health exchange (eHX) applications.  The eCW Implementation Specialist is a critical end-user support position responsible for efficient and timely hands-on support, troubleshooting and remediation of eCW and eHX issues. The eCW Implementation Specialist collaborates closely with the end-users on a daily basis to provide education and instructions on these mission-critical system features and functionality and to explore various options to accommodate the user’s workflow and operational needs.

 

The eCW Implementation Specialist will report to the Director of eCW Support Services to provide direct support to specific assigned projects undertaken by the HIT team to (1) implement new eCW features and/or capabilities, or (2) optimize the use of existing eCW tools and processes, which includes assessing available eCW options to best address user workflow and operational needs and managing the set-up, configuration, customization and troubleshooting of the eCW system to ensure established operational goals are achieved. The eCW Implementation Specialist  will also assist DCPCA’s eCW support staff in resolving eCW issues that require eCW EHR configuration and/or customization.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong background with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or an equivalent Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. This talented professional will possess a solid customer service orientation, with enthusiasm for finding solutions to common eCW issues. A critical skill set is the ability to communicate with multiple eCW users and other stakeholders effectively and efficiently. 

 

The successful candidate for this role will be required to work in the DCPCA office at least three (3) days a week. However, DCPCA also offers an alternative 5-4/9 compressed work schedule. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop workplans and schedules for completion of on-going projects and new initiatives as required
  • Lead and/or facilitate discussions that enable the gathering of requirements and conduct follow-up design review sessions with leadership, clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders of assigned projects to confirm requirements and next steps
  • Perform analyses required to define effective eCW operational processes and workflows
  • Use eCW configuration and/or customization tools to implement approved design features to support the expected eCW workflow and data capture requirements
  • Conduct user validation and testing of implemented eCW capabilities and procedures to ensure appropriate support for defined business needs
  • Implement and adhere to DCPCA policies and standard operating processes to ensure compliance with HIPAA security and privacy requirements as well as the District’s regulatory and credentialing standards
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to project participants during the integration and/or implementation of new modules and tools capabilities as required
  • Assist in researching and resolving technical issues related to eCW applications
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to support successful eCW implementation, adoption and use within DCPCA hosted community health centers and other contracted facilities

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIRED:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health technology or related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • Master’s degree in a health related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of practices and principles of business and healthcare technology management
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of eClinicalWorks applications is required
  • Demonstrated self-starter that is extremely well organized and takes initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple dynamic tasks simultaneously
  • Possesses excellent technical diagnostic and analytical skills and a consultative and collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Pays attention to details and possesses excellent written, analytical and verbal communication skills
  • Strong people skills to build trusting professional relationships with diverse stakeholders and customers
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative and support staff.
  • Adaptability to changes in work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
  • Ability to comprehend criticality of issues and escalate accordingly while maintaining a high degree of urgency

ADA SPECIFICATIONS:

 

This position is primarily sedentary in the Washington DC office with some local trips to stakeholder and clinical offices, as well as occasional overnight travel. The position may require some bending and lifting.
