Lumber Yard Sales Representative

H L Munn Lumber, a Mead Lumber Company, is a leading provider of building products to professional contractors, and remodelers. We have 53 Operating locations across 9 Midwestern states. 100% employee-owned, we are the 12th largest building material suppliers to professional builders in the country. We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Lumber Yard Sales Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their lumber and building material needs, providing exceptional service, and contributing to the overall success of our lumber yard operations.

1. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers and assist them in identifying their lumber and building material requirements.
   • Provide product information, recommendations, and guidance to customers based on their project needs.
   • Answer customer inquiries promptly and accurately, both in person and over the phone.
   • Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, striving to resolve issues to their satisfaction.
2. Sales:
   • Actively engage customers to generate sales and meet sales targets.
   • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
   • Maintain knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and product offerings to effectively promote sales.
3. Product Knowledge and Maintenance:
   • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our lumber and building material inventory.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and customers.
   • Comply with company policies and procedures, including those related to inventory management, cash handling, and customer service.
5. Teamwork:
   • Collaborate with colleagues to accomplish tasks efficiently and contribute to a positive work environment.

• Construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lumber and building materials is preferred.
• Previous experience in sales, preferably in a lumber yard or building materials environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in using computers and point-of-sale systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
