As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a talented Controller to join our dynamic team.  We have offices in Birmingham, AL and also open to remote work with occasional travel.

Position Overview:

As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of ShadowDragon. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic guidance to support our company's financial objectives. We are fast paced and high growth company, so the ideal candidate will be innovative and committed to improving systems and processes that will scale as our business grows.  The ideal candidate will have thorough experience with Netsuite, expertise in software revenue recognition as it relates to the SaaS business model, and a strong foundation in general accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts, review journal entries, and analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
• Prepare and present financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to senior management.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Netsuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of revenue data and compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze customer contracts and revenue arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and collections efforts to optimize cash flow and minimize outstanding balances.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and customers to facilitate efficient payment and billing processes.
• Coordinate the year-end external audit and all financial and tax compliance work
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls

Team Leadership and Development:

• Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring workload distribution and adherence to deadlines.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Thorough understanding of Netsuite, including ARM, Fixed assets, and experience with other modules
• Demonstrated expertise in software revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606 and SaaS revenue models.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
