Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 DOE + Annual Profit Sharing + Benefits
Benefits: Health/Dental/Vision fully paid by the company, Simple IRA w/ 3% Match, PTO
Job Type: Full-Time
Typical Hours: M-F, 9am – 5pm Flexible (core hours 9:30am-5:30pm)

Senior Mechanical Engineer (3D CAD Exp Req, SolidWorks Pref) Description

Our client in the tech industry is looking for a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit to add to their team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In this role, you will support mechanical engineering product development & design initiatives for a wide range of customer projects. This is a hybrid position with the opportunity to work from home 1-3 days per week, dependent upon project needs. The ideal candidate is talented with 3D modeling in CAD, highly curious, always learning, and has strong technical communication skills. Experience or strong interest in 3D printing is also ideal to leverage our client’s in-house 3D printing lab. To be successful, you must have a creative mindset for product development, enjoy the challenge of working across a wide array of project types, and be comfortable interfacing directly with the client. Senior Mechanical Engineer (3D CAD Exp Req, SolidWorks Pref) Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical design and analysis for assigned client projects
• Create two-dimensional (2D) drawings or three-dimensional (3D) models in SolidWorks
• Support multiple projects simultaneously
• Design and coordinate the assembly of prototypes: machining, part sourcing, 3D printing…
• Develop prototype test strategies
• Support in-house fabrication
• Work directly with clients to assess and understand project needs
• Attend weekly company meetings to discuss active projects
• Compile project progress reports and updates for client review
• Support with new products, including research and development
• Collaborate with other Engineers on the best practices to streamline shared processes
• Complete ongoing professional development and stay apprised of technology trends

Senior Mechanical Engineer (3D CAD Exp Req, SolidWorks Pref) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related required
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience is required
• Strong knowledge of 3D modeling in CAD required (SolidWorks Preferred)
• Comfortable in a shop/lab environment required
• Creative mindset for product development is required
