DevOps Manager

The DevOps Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the DevOps department to fulfill the goals provided by the COO. This role is responsible for driving deployment automation, ensuring site reliability, and upholding quality standards. This role will be responsible for managing the processes, and tools used for application deployment.

The DevOps Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of our software systems and guaranteeing continuous improvements to minimize future incidents. Success in this role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet the current and future needs of our customers and the company.

The DevOps team bridges the gap between development and support in our organization. Our organization has built a culture of efficient processing of servicing (both time efficient and accurate) to have a positive impact on the customer experience.

The ideal candidate for this role has strong leadership skills and a strong background in cloud environments. Prompt, precise and effective troubleshooting and communication skills are essential to performing well in this position. This role is onsite.

  • Manage the DevOps team, providing guidance, mentorship and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ensures the DevOps team is consistently producing timely deployments daily and delivering them from semimonthly sprint cycles.
  • Continually assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the DevOps team’s work and processes.
  • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the application and recommends improvement for reliability, scalability, performance, and security of the application.
  • Manage the technical specifications to complete the deployment stage and work closely with the application development team to maintain coordination and communication between all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for identifying any risks that can delay the deployment of the release.
  • Manage the build and configuration of data exchange platforms.
  • Maintain documentation related to the procedures on the build, release, and dependencies.
  • Direct the building, installing, and configuring product interfaces.
  • Facilitates integration, troubleshooting and resolving system interface issues.
  • Maintain metrics and ensure that the software delivery pipeline is as efficient as possible.
  • Define and document policies, procedures, and standards related to supported platforms and applications.
  • Direct testing activity and data migrations.
  • Manage the upgrades to and configuring integration & data exchange platforms.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline work processes to improve productivity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related field, and five plus years of experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above and the additional requirements listed below:

  • At least five years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Five or more years of managing Cloud/DevOps/Database projects.
  • Experience with troubleshooting in a live cloud environment preferred.
  • Track record of deploying and supporting complex technical solutions within different applications.
  • Strong understanding of deployment best practices.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis to identify issues.
  • Experience with file management within a Linux environment, SQL query, and creating scripts.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot in PHP, Javascript, Ansible, Regex and MySQL highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices, principles and tools used.
  • Advanced ability to analyze, organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 medical data formats preferred.
  • Ability to empower, motivate, and mentor others.
  • Demonstrates strong aptitude to work effectively and support others in an environment of continuous change.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills.
