Coding Assistant

Minnesota Urology is hiring a Full-Time Medical Coding Assistant

Schedule is Monday- Friday

Regular Daytime Hours, No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays!

Hybrid Remote Option

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide assistance in coordinating and gathering information to assist the Coding Department.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates new patient information in NextGen charts and enters demographic information for outlying clinics into the practice management system and creates visits.
• Verifies and audits patient information against the physician's schedule from outlying clinics including referring physicians to coordinate information.
• Follows up with outside facilities to obtain patient information or dictation. Acts as a liaison for the patient between the clinic, and referring physician, in addition to consulting payer websites.
• Transcribes information from the physician's surgery lines onto a Word document.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSURE:

• One to two years of coding experience or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong insurance knowledge and experience are required.
• Knowledge of EMR systems is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is helpful, but not required.
