Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Our Payroll Assistant will aid the Administrator manage and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payrolls, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to over 50 clients with various employee counts, consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.

DUTIES INCLUDE ASSISTANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING TASKS:

• Ensure timecards are entered into software so that payroll data is accurate and on time
• Establish that processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
• Prepare and remit federal, state and local tax reports in a timely fashion
• Prepare and submit Worker’s Comp reports to insurance carriers as required
• Research and Prepare materials for IRS, Worker’s Comp or other audits as needed
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements
• Export payrolls to QuickBooks platforms
• Apply for tax ID, withholding, and unemployment numbers from multiple states and jurisdictions
• Occasionally work with Accountants to resolve discrepancies between downloads and exports
• Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
• Daily use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
