Company Overview: Potomac Testing, a TechPro Power Group company, has been a leading provider of comprehensive low, medium, and high-voltage electrical equipment services since 1985. The company offers a range of services, including NETA acceptance and maintenance testing, planned and emergency field services, power quality and engineering studies, and retrofitting and refurbishment of electrical equipment.

Location: 1610 Professional Blvd., Suite A | Crofton, MD 21114 (this position will be in office initially but has potential to become hybrid)

Compensation: $60-75k.

Summary: The Union Payroll Specialist at Potomac Testing ensures the smooth and efficient daily operations of payroll for our union groups. This role involves managing payroll functions and maintaining accurate employee payroll records through input, review, and auditing.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accurate processing and recording of all company payrolls.
• Possess extensive knowledge of union payroll, including scale wages, deductions, and benefit calculations.
• Stay current with union agreements and rates.
• Maintain the Union Wage Package Comparison spreadsheet and update it as needed.
• Adjust rates and recalculate deductions as required for any out-of-jurisdiction work.
• Assist with monthly union fringe reporting.
• Support annual audits of the trust funds.
• Research and resolve any discrepancies related to trust fund payments.
• Provide notification to unions for any out-of-jurisdiction work.
• Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality for sensitive information.
• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to maintain a stationary position at a desk for extended periods of time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous payroll experience in a union environment is a must.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with Paycom is a plus.
