Service Technician (Commercial Construction)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: As a Service Technician at Barringer Construction, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing satisfaction of our clients by providing exceptional maintenance, install, and repair services. These services include:

·Cabinetry repair and installation
·Access panels
·Painting touch-up
·Leaks and water damage
·Drywall patch and repair
·Picture hanging and room reorganization
·Door and hardware installation
·Ceiling tile/grid repair, replacement, and installation
·Tiling and backsplash
·Grommet holes
·Vinyl and wood base installation/replacement
·General carpentry
·Appliance and fixture installation/repair
·Furniture and partition installation/repair

The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 5 years of experience in construction and maintenance, demonstrating their ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in construction or maintenance work. Certification or training in relevant technical areas (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry) is a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to read, hear and follow instructions.

Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and measure.

Reasoning Ability: Willingness to take direction from the team. Ability to deal with a variety of customers, co-workers and subcontractors. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, blueprint/plan or schedule form. Ability to complete tasks accurately, safely and within given schedule. Ability to understand and speak English. Fluency in another language is a plus.

Physical Demands: This job is primarily conducted at customer locations requiring construction service or maintenance work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to talk, hear, visually observe and move around service job sites. The employee may occasionally be required to climb ladders and lift or move up to 50 lbs alone or heavier weights with a partner(s). The employee will be required to use hand tools and power tools to complete service work. Employee will be required to have a valid NC driver license and to safely operate a company truck.
