Job Summary:

The Director, Software Engineering & Product designs and maintains the agile development process for the Accuserve Core development team. They run sprints, write stories, assign work, manage priorities, set project schedules, and report on progress. They maintain process and manage sprints in Jira Software. They will coordinate on cross-team projects and may assist in providing process direction for other development teams. They will work closely with software leaders and technical architects on management of the Core development team and SDLC for that team. In their product role they will work with business operations on requirements gathering and prioritization. They will write specifications and report on projects.

General Responsibilities:

  • Implement an agile process that works for the Core dev team and the business.
  • Continuous refinement of the agile processes
  • Facilitate sprint planning and stand-ups
  • Prioritize backlog
  • Help coach Core dev team
  • Administer Jira Software
  • Coordinate with other senior leaders on strategic roadmap
  • Requirements gathering, specification writing, documentation
  • Feature prioritization
  • Release Documentation
  • Communication and scheduling with business operations
  • Coordinate releases across interdependent products
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 5+ years’ experience leading engineering functions in an agile environment
  • 10+ years in a software engineering role
  • Project management and product management experience in an agile environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Excellent customer skills
  • Limited ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to handle conflict in a professional and courteous manner
  • Excellent verbal, electronic, and written communication, and customer service skills
  • Work with peers and all departments for the common goals of the organization
  • Reliable in meeting commitments
  • Must be flexible and adapt to most any situation
  • Ability to utilize technology devices, software and application, previous experience with Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer skills required
  • Reliable high speed home internet connection if working remotely
