Instructional Design Intern

Job Purpose:

The Instructional Design Intern will collaborate with the subject matter expert to complete the development of engaging and interactive HR Management e-courses on the MyQuest platform. Responsibilities include reviewing facilitation guides, analyzing and aligning course recordings to the facilitation guide content, and incorporating design elements to enhance the learning experience.

This role offers hands-on experience in instructional design and e-learning development.

Job Description:

• Collaborate with the subject matter expert to complete the build, design and development of current training curriculum and educational materials for HR Management e-courses on the MyQuest platform.
• Assist in building, designing and developing instructional materials, including e-learning courses, training aids, and instructor-led training materials.
• Update current facilitation guides to reflect regulatory changes and/or facilitator modifications.
• Review facilitation guides for each course/module and make recommendations for incorporating design elements into the MyQuest platform.
• Analyze course recordings and identify opportunities to enhance the learning experience through visuals, documents, and other multimedia elements.
• Make recommendations for incorporating design elements into course recordings based on facilitation guides and instructional objectives.
• Support the creation of brand design elements (e.g., graphics, images, animations) to enhance the visual appeal and effectiveness of course materials.
• Incorporate instructional design skills to create professional participant guides aligned with the training program content.
• Perform quality checks on instructional materials to ensure they meet brand and instructional design standards.
• Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
• Assist with the update and build out of content within the MyQuest platform, including uploading and formatting course materials and flow.
• Collaborate with subject matter expert to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize user experience on the MyQuest platform.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in instructional design and e-learning development.
• Assist with other tasks related to instructional design, as needed.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and methodologies.
• Experience with e-course Learning Management Systems, preferably MyQuest. LearnDash knowledge is helpful.
• Proficiency in multimedia design tools, preferably Canva.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to write or edit effective copy, instructional text.
• Ability to work independently and as part of virtual team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
• Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
• Self-starter, highly accountable professional can anticipate problems and define effective solutions within the timeline expected for the projects timeline and budget.

Duration: This is a paid internship position with a duration of approximately three months.

Time Commitment: 8-16 Hours per week

Compensation: $12/hour

Location: This role is primarily accomplished remotely in collaboration with the subject matter expert and a virtual team. An occasional in-person meeting, at the SW Regional Library, is required at the start of the project and every 3 or 4 weeks thereafter.
