Job Description:

· Handle a case load commensurate with the complexity level of claims assigned.

· Responsibilities include investigating loss, determining coverage, managing litigation, assessing damages, negotiating settlements, identifying fraud, and utilizing authorized vendors.

· Ensure compliance with state statutes, client guidelines, and best practices.

· Attend conferences, client meetings, mentor other adjusters, and support management as needed.

· Adhere to company claim metrics.

· All file handling must comply with state statutes, NARS and Client Claims Handling Guidelines and NARS Best Practices.

· Other miscellaneous duties as assigned, which may include travel.

Qualification Requirements:

Education / Licensing:

· College degree preferred

· Experience with property litigation.

· Minimum of 7 to 10 years of commercial property claim adjusting experience

· Must possess, or be able to obtain, adjuster’s license in multiple states.

Technical Skills:

· Must have interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.

· Must be customer service oriented

· Must have strong negotiation and litigation skills for significant work with attorneys and arbitration on first and third- party claims.

· Requires ability to work independently.

· Requires organization and time management skills.

· Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Must be able to explain and appropriately respond to auditors, clients, and potential clients during in-person presentations.

Abilities:

· Requires long periods of sitting.

· Must be willing to attend local NARS office meetings, on occasion.

· Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

· May require lifting of files and boxes up to approximately 20 pounds.

· Regular use of keyboard, mouse, computer, and exposure to computer screens.

· Requires travel for mediation, as assigned.

In the spirit of pay transparency we are excited to share the base salary for the position of Sr. Commercial Property Claims Adjuster is $57,000 - $95,200 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for an annual performance raise if all guidelines are met. Your salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education and or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equality and consider the internal equality of our current team members as a final part of any offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is full base salary range for the role. Hiring at maximum of the range would not be typical to allow future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
