JOB SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for providing effective customer service for all catering customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of catering products and services. They are responsible for collaborating with catering team members to answer questions, direct inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.

  • Greet and provide assistance to customers at the catering reception desk. Model the Lund Food Holdings customer service standards at all times
  • Provide assistance to customers by phone and through electronic communication, ensuring they are connected with the correct individual in the department
  • Assist event planning team as needed with planning and executing customers event needs
  • Assist event planning team with customer event confirmation calls
  • Prepare weekly order estimate conversion and confirmation call reports
  • Process cash deposits and check payments from clients
  • Assist Catering Manager with updating website with new menu items, pricing, and descriptions
  • Collaborate with marketing on the design of special menus for events, including special tasting menus, ensuring integrity of Lunds & Byerlys branding
  • Create, maintain, and manage inventory of various menu signage including:
    • Menu item cards and menu displays
    • Reheating instructions for pick-up orders
  • Facilitate pick-up orders including:
    • Ensuring an accurate list of pick-up orders is available to team members
    • Packaging and labeling service ware for each order
    • Staging orders for pick-up and ensuring successful pick-up experience
  • Partner with retail department teams to complete orders that include bakery or deli items
  • Maintain current and accurate city temporary licensing and event notifications and communicate information and updates to catering leadership team and event planning team
  • Maintain up to date list of venue information and requirements
  • Assist with proper processing of new vendor paperwork and client invoices
  • Ensure ongoing customer communication including post-event thank-you notes, soliciting post-event feedback, sending life event congratulation notes, sharing information on promotions, and other relationship and loyalty building gestures
  • Manage and ensure communication of customer feedback reporting
  • Ensure inventory of office and various event supplies including nametags and uniforms

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education
    1. Required: High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Desired: Post-secondary education
  2. Licensing Required: None required
  3. Experience
    1. Two or more years work experience within the related technical/functional work area
  4. LFHI Competencies expected of all employees include: action oriented, communicates effectively, customer focus and instills trust.
  5. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    1. A service-oriented individual with a high energy, positive and friendly demeanor
    2. Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
