About the Role:

As we continue to expand rapidly, we are seeking an experienced strategic leader to oversee the operational and financial aspects of our growing business. Over the past three years, our company has achieved significant growth, leading to daily operational challenges and inefficiencies that are hindering our CEO from focusing on strategic external opportunities.

In this critical role of COO/CFO, you will collaborate closely with the CEO to alleviate day-to-day management burdens, enabling a greater focus on driving external growth initiatives such as direct-to-consumer strategies, new product development, and expansion into European markets. The CEO aims to foster a sustainable culture and transition to a more hands-off management approach.

As our COO/CFO, you will be instrumental in streamlining our daily operations, spearheading strategic initiatives, and facilitating our expansion into new markets and product lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and optimize daily operational processes to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance scalability, including supply chain management, inventory control, fulfillment processes, and financial operations.
  • Implement robust financial controls and reporting systems to ensure financial health, manage cash flow, and drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic plans for market expansion, customer acquisition, and product development.
  • Lead efforts to enhance company culture and employee engagement through effective organizational strategies, including talent development and performance management.
  • Develop risk management strategies and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead financial planning and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making and ensure alignment with growth objectives.
  • Optimize technology infrastructure and systems to support business growth and enhance customer experience across our different channels and digital marketing tools.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize costs and ensure quality of services.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop talent acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring the organization has the right talent to support growth and operational excellence.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by leveraging analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational and financial performance.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, auditors, and legal advisors, to support fundraising efforts and ensure transparency and accountability.

Requirements :

  1. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • A proven track record of scaling a business from $50 million to $200 million in sales is a must.
    • 8+ years of experience in executive leadership roles, ideally within the e-commerce or retail industry, demonstrating a blend of operational and financial expertise.

  3. Financial Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Experience in implementing financial controls, reporting systems, and KPIs to monitor performance and support decision-making.

  4. Leadership and Strategic Vision:
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
    • Strategic thinker with the capability to develop and execute growth strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Experience in driving organizational change and fostering a positive company culture.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels.
