LS Networks is currently looking for enthusiastic and innovative professionals to join our team. We are seeking a GL Accountant II to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial department by maintaining the general ledger, assisting with financial close cycles, and supporting the accounting department as needed.

The GL Accountant II will report directly to the Senior Accountant. This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary of $64,000.00 - $78,200.00 annually, depending on experience.

Location: Hybrid/remote-The GL Accountant will need to work onsite at our downtown Portland HQ office at least three times weekly.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares, reviews, reconciles, and analyzes monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts within the General Ledger. Ensure all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with GAAP accounting standards.
  • Assist with maintaining accounting records and schedules for fixed assets.
  • Prepare journal entries related to amortization, depreciation, and accruals.
  • Responsible for outside audits, including preparing schedules, invoices, reconciliations, explaining supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
  • Monitor accounts payable duties such as verifying all invoices for payment, ensuring expenditures are properly coded to correct general ledger account.
  • Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material. This may include contracts, leases, amortization schedules, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules. Update records as necessary.
  • Interfaces with senior management regarding their department's financial statements, budget variances questions, and analysis.
  • Supports the annual budget process in partnership with accounting and operations leaders.
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly assigned bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Maintains professional knowledge of GAAP accounting trends and best practices. Practices technical and professional self-development, including staying informed of industry trends, financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting compliance.
  • Recommend, design, and implement any necessary department controls.
  • Will be cross trained to assist with other finance and accounting duties as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to solve complex accounting problems and errors.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Netsuite is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial bookkeeping procedures.
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong, accurate math skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Illustrate the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Team player and ability to motivate the team members.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

 

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a similar area of study is preferred. Public accounting and/or audit experience are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a GL Accountant or a similar role in the accounting department.
