POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Tester to join our dynamic development team. This role involves a blend of manual testing and automated testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for improving software quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Perform manual testing for a variety of projects, including functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
Develop and maintain automated testing scripts using leading testing tools and frameworks.
Identify, record, and document thoroughly any bugs or errors encountered during testing.
Work closely with the development team to ensure any issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
Review and analyze system specifications to ensure testing scenarios accurately cover all aspects of the product.
Monitor and evaluate testing results, reporting on the overall quality, risks, and compliance with specifications.
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies to improve the testing process.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies and team efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / DHS Clearance with an extensive financial background check.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or additional experience in lieu of a degree.
Proven experience as a Software Tester, with a strong background in both manual and automated testing.
Proficiency with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, TestComplete, QTP/UFT) and frameworks.
Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
Excellent analytical skills and a problem-solving attitude.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
Working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full-time exempt position that may require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
The role may involve working with different teams across various locations, necessitating flexibility in work hours.
Regular updates and coordination with the development teams and other departments are essential for success in this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires standing, walking, sitting, hand use, occasional lifting, reaching, and carrying.
Moderate noise level, with occasional outside work subject to temperature fluctuations.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods using a phone or other forms of business communication
TRAVEL
Local DC Metro travel (commute) is required.
