Role Summary

MetaPhase is seeking a Finance & Administrative (F&A) Intern currently enrolled in a business degree program at the undergraduate or graduate level. The F&A Internship at MetaPhase Consulting offers a unique opportunity for business students to gain firsthand experience and insights into the financial and operational back-office functions of a growing government contractor. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to observe and learn from functional leaders across Finance & Accounting, as well as Contracts, Human Resources, Recruiting, and IT & Security. The F&A intern will have a unique opportunity to "peek behind the curtain" and gain insight into the critical functions that support business operations within a metrics-driven organization.

What You Will Be Doing

• Shadowing Finance and other Back-Office Leadership: Observe and actively participate in meetings, presentations, and discussions led by members of the Back-Office, gaining insight into their roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across different departments and functional areas to support cross-functional projects and initiatives, gaining exposure to various aspects of the organization's operations and strategic priorities.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct data analysis and prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings and insights to VP and C-suite executives, supporting informed decision-making and strategic planning processes.
• Professional Development: Engage in networking opportunities, mentorship sessions, and professional development workshops to enhance your leadership skills, business acumen, and understanding of operational roles and responsibilities.
• Special Projects: Take on special projects and assignments as directed by VP of Finance or other back-office Leadership, providing valuable support and contributing to the overall success of the internship experience.
• Key Summer Finance Initiatives the intern may support include: Multi-year strategic account planning, mid-year contract forecasting, pricing and proposal efforts, indirect cost and rate analysis, monthly financial close process documentation and enhancements

What We Need From You (Required)

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate business program, preferably with a focus on finance or accounting
• Strong academic performance and demonstrated leadership potential, with a genuine interest in the business-side of federal government contracting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques is a plus. Emphasis on proficient to strong Excel skills, focused on modeling, data analysis and data presentation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to interact professionally with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset and ability to analyze complex information, synthesize key insights, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Proactive attitude, with a willingness to take initiative, learn new concepts, and contribute to meaningful projects and discussions.
