Job Description

The New York State Weatherization Directors Association (NYSWDA) is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable full-time Energy Efficiency Trainer to provide training in a lab/classroom setting at its Energy Efficiency Training Center in East Syracuse, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for you to take the next step in your professional career, while also positively affecting the Building Science Industry in New York State.

What you can expect:

Regular work hours M-F, no nights, weekends, or on-call.
Vehicle and equipment provided for occasional regional training.
Salary is based on experience

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a broad and varied background in residential and/or commercial construction, or experience in building science and/or HVAC.
Must have a valid drivers license
Building Performance Institute (BPI) certifications a plus.
Training experience also a plus, but not required.
NYSWDA will provide the necessary support.

NYSWDA is the leading provider of building sciences training in New York State and New England. Our facilities are designed to integrate classroom training and laboratory exercises, providing field technicians an exceptional learning experience. We can also provide both on-site and field training, when feasible. Our trainers are subject matter experts, with years of field and classroom experience. Because of this, NYSWDA earned IREC's 3i Accredited Training Provider of the Year Award in 2016 and continues to be an IREC Accredited training provider.

NYSWDA has been working with the Building Performance Institute (BPI) since its founding in 1993. We are BPI affiliates and an approved BPI Testing Center, offering training and written/field tests onsite. As a result, all of our courses are eligible for BPI continuing education units (CEU’s).

And finally, NYSWDA works closely with policy regulators and implementing agencies, advocating common sense energy policy and approaches to the home performance industry around the state.
