Temp Porter

Temp position, wage is $16.00 per hour

Overview and Summary:
Directly responsible for overall cleanliness and maintenance of interior and exterior of assigned building or buildings. Performs all assigned duties; observes appearance of the interior and exterior of the buildings(s); reports special problems to the superintendent for follow‐up; checks specific areas for debris, cleanliness, and maintenance; follows established written routines to insure proper results; meets required standard of cleanliness and maintenance established and described by management; performs all duties in a professional, effective and efficient manner to ensure avoidance of violations by City, State, and Federal agencies; is responsive to tenants‘ comments or complaints about condition of building(s); reports all complaints to management for further action if necessary; assists handyman as instructed; performs any and all job requests from superintendent or other management personnel; attends all regular meetings to discuss work to be performed and to discuss appearance of the building(s); follows proper procedures to order supplies and equipment; properly completes paperwork and receives all authorizations as necessary.

Reports to: Directly reports to the Facility Director, Maintenance Supervisor and Superintendent; also follows instructions and directive of other Management personnel including Property Managers and the Executive Director.

Essential Requirements: Qualifications, Skills and Education:
1. Must have 1 – 3 years of successful experience as a porter.
2. Must be able to understand instructions; reads and writes English with assistance, if
available); can complete necessary paperwork.
3. Must have a High School Diploma/equivalent. Candidate lacking the credentials should have
a minimum of 3 years of maintenance/porter experience.
